Just like anything else, trips also need to be budgeted. This is why we've built a trip planner for you to use. This differs from the vacation calculator in that here we assume you're going to drive versus fly and we also have smaller defaults.
Note that if you input 5 nights, we assume 6 days. This is because the first day is usually spent traveling to the destination and the last day is spent traveling back potentially adding to the food, transportation & entertainment budget.
Better to overestimate than underestimate in our opinion.
