"We" is very clearly an exageration. Expensio, LeetSoftware and all other affiliates are really just me with maybe a few freelancers here and there.
My name is Alex Lazar. I'm a self-taught software developer, entrepreneur, content creator and ex-amateur boxer.
The goal with Expensio is to make it easy to manage your day-to-day expenses.
See all the problems that our users face in the case studies and whatnot? They are my problem as well.
I too had a very hard time saving, or even just not running out of money before my salary day.
Expensio is made, first and foremost, for myself. This is how all of the decisions about the product are made.
Every feature is a feature I wanted but couldn't find elsewhere.
The lack of bloat is a feature I wanted. Balance corrections & projections are features I wanted. Privacy through self-hosting is a feature I wanted. The product being fast is a feature I wanted.
I guess what I want you to take from this page is that, if you are like me then you will be a happy user of Expensio.
Not everyone is like me, but I have a feeling quite some people in the world hate budgeting and forget to do it just like me.
What does the future hold?
I don't know how much further I'll develop Expensio. To me, it achieves its goal. It helps me save money and it's easy to use.
This product is not my current bread winner, so I can't dump all of my time and effort into it.
But what I can promise you is that Expensio will continue to exist. This is part of the reason why I chose self-hosting.
You don't have to worry about me discontinuing the product or changing it beyond recognition. I don't have to worry about hosting it for you.
But I still get to help a few people in the world. And I get rewarded for it.
